Hora Vertikale, designed by the architecture studio OODA based in Porto, is a new residential development in Tirana. It contains buildings organized in the form of a vertical settlement, inspired by the ancient Albanian word “Hora”, which means village. The project also includes a lively park and various service spaces for residents and visitors.
Hora Vertikale offers different views and perspectives from different points of the city, creating a dynamic and playful interweaving of shapes, especially up close. The composition gradually pulls back from the main street towards the park at the back, creating a transition as suitable as possible in size and scale. The project aims to offer a unique interpretation of the characteristics and features of Tirana, creating a distinctive, powerful, and authentic silhouette.
The entire project has been developed using seven different types of cubes, each consisting of seven floors, an average height characteristic for most buildings in Tirana. Each cube represents a unique concept related to art and at the same time is inspired by local architecture and tradition.
