Why should you work only with licensed agents?
Working with a licensed real estate agent protects you legally and financially. Agents certified by the Ministry of Justice have met the professional requirements and are accountable for the service they provide.
- Legal safety: transactions are handled according to the law in force.
- Verified professionals: their identity and qualification are officially confirmed.
- Accountability: the agent is responsible for the information and advice they give.
- Protection from fraud: avoid informal intermediaries and financial risks.
How do you become a licensed agent?
The profession of real estate intermediary is regulated by Law no. 9/2022. Certification is issued by the Ministry of Justice and goes through these main steps:
- 1 Meet the legal requirements (legal age, capacity to act and no criminal record under the applicable law).
- 2 Complete the mandatory professional training program of at least 60 hours at an accredited institution (civil, commercial and criminal law, property valuation, contracts, professional ethics, marketing, etc.).
- 3 Pass the written certification exam (2 hours long).
- 4 Submit the application with the required documents to the Ministry of Justice.
- 5 Once approved, you receive the certificate and your name is added to the official public register.
The fee for the mandatory training program is around 30,000 lekë. The review period and exact criteria are defined by the Ministry of Justice under Law no. 9/2022.
