🌊 Blue Eye – The natural wonder of Albania
Hidden among the deep greenery of southern Albania, Blue Eye (in Albanian: Syri i Kaltër) is a unique natural spring that amazes you with its beauty and mystery. It is located at the foot of the Mali i Gjerë mountain, on the road between Gjirokastra and Saranda, near the village of Muzinë.
💧 What makes it so special?
Blue Eye is a crystal-clear water spring that emerges from the underground with a depth that has not yet been fully measured (divers have reached over 50 meters). The water has a stunning deep blue color in the center, while around it transitions to light blue and green, giving it the shape of a true "eye" – from where the name comes.
🌿 An ideal place for:
Nature lovers
Photographers and adventurers
Travelers seeking tranquility and freshness on hot summer days
Family excursions and guided tours
🚶♂️The area is surrounded by natural trails, small traditional cafes, and offers a peaceful atmosphere, away from urban noise. In summer, the water temperature remains extremely cold (around 10°C), so it is more for refreshing than for swimming.
📸 Tip: Don't forget to take your camera – Blue Eye is one of the most photogenic places in Albania!
